- Move! Be active in your everyday life. Many forget there is more to having an active life than simply going to the gym for an hour. To help keep your body healthy, incorporate movement in your everyday life. Rather than sitting on the couch watching TV, get out of the house. Walk somewhere instead of driving, or ride a bike. Get your body moving throughout the day, and you’ll be amazed at the changes you see.
- Have fun! Do what you love. Being motivated to exercise is difficult, so help yourself out by doing what you love. If you hate running, don’t go on a treadmill. Find something that is fun for you and is still good exercise. Whether it is dancing, or playing soccer, or using a fitness video game, swimming, or even walking your dog, find something that is fun for you so that you can’t wait to go out and exercise.
- Take up Yoga or Tai Chi! Flexibility and strength training are important parts of your health, and Yoga or Tai Chi can help with both, as well as your balance. These help to get you healthy, make you stronger, and have been shown with testing (such as the One Touch Ultra Mini test strips) to help lower blood sugar levels.
With these tips, your life will be happier and healthier.
After a long day of sitting at my desk, it can be hard to find the energy to want to do much of anything, so I have been looking in to walking desks. This one in particular has caught my eye. Does anyone have any experience with these?
