Today’s Affirmation:
As my life unfolds, I must allow the creases
in my soul to soften. Those parts of me that
have been tucked away are ready to expand into wholeness.
There is pure joy and freedom in my unfolding.

Of all traditional systems of fitness, none is more directly concerned with improving the limberness of the body than yoga. Yoga recognizes that flexibility is one attribute you really can improve—and continue to improve throughout your life.
In addition to building flexibility, yoga conveys many other benefits also conducive to longevity, as well as to appearance. Yoga tones and strengthens muscle, improves balance, and heightens your sensitivity to your body as a whole. With its emphasis on the breath, yoga can be both energizing and calming. In addition, it teaches you to focus on the moment-to-moment experience of being in your body.
Don’t miss this 8-minute calming and energizing video:
I like Kathy Smith’s videos very much but I wish she would dress much more modestly. I am very uncomfortable with some of her videos because she is much too much exposed. In this video for example her top is so skimpy that her “chestal regions”, so to speak, are exposed. Yoga has a tradition of modesty and I consider that a good thing. Whether one accepts that as a rationale or not, just the basic value of modesty would be appreciated by this viewer. My spouse and I like to do yoga together, but this one makes me very uncomfortable, embarrassed – I am modest, not a prude. Does Ms. Smith really intend for this video to be titillating? If not, then I say: put some clothes on and focus on the instruction and guidance and not on exhibitionism of your body! When I see somebody who is “overexposed”, my inclination is to look away; however, that defeats the purpose of watching an exercise/movement video! Don’t dress in ways that cause the modest ones of your followers to have to look away; it’s pretty simple. I know there exist videos called “naked yoga” and their ilk, but I do not have any interest in those and would never buy one or view one. This is not naked yoga, but it “hints” at it and I find that distracting, rather than helpful and instructive. Just because the pants are long does not negate the fact that the top is very short on both ends of it! I would say the top is way too small in every way. I guess I sound a little angry and that’s because I am: I really want to just appreciate the yoga of this video but Ms. Smith’s wardrobe decision has interfered with that – and so I feel deprived of the yoga experience offered. I am going to try to get over my annoyance and just do the yoga with her, but I wish I didn’t have that unnecessary obstacle to overcome at all! Thanks for the opportunity to vent – and thanks for the great instruction and exercise series in your videos; I would like them much more if Ms. Smith were more modestly – and appropriately – dressed.
That was a wonderful way to stretch my muscles. I love the wave movements. Where do I find this? Thanks. Julie
