Kickboxing Still In Vogue? You bet your Supermodel!

In a recent article in Men's Vogue, the writer raved about my friend Michael Olajide (pronounced "Ola-jeed"), the former Number One middleweight champion of the world who's making headlines with his Aerospace Fitness Center in Manhattan. The article confirms what many fitness buffs already know: boxers are still the best-conditioned athletes. If you're looking for a lean, sculpted body, take note!

Whether your goal is to get into tip-top shapelike actress Karlina Kurkova, who used Michael's workouts to prep for her role in the upcoming film G.I. Joe ("I have tried a lot of things ...this is the best!")or you just need a healthy way to blow off some steam, like Brazilian model Adriana Lima ("I love it! But I don't like to hit people ... just the bags") this might be the training method for you.
I was fortunate enough to work with Michael a few years back on my Aerobox Workout. Not long after that, I also collaborated with another boxing champ, Keith Cooke, a 5 time World Champion in Martial Arts, to create my Kickboxing Workout. Reading the article about Michael and then dropping by Keith's studio for a kickboxing

Top 3 Reasons We Love Kickboxing...
1. Burns 500-800 calories per hour!
2. Sculpts arms, shoulders, abs, thighs, and butt in ONE workout!
3. Perfect "Stress Buster"...and better than beating up your archenemy!
7 Tips to Rock Those Moves:
Jabs Fast surprise punches...strike quickly with control.
Cross Force comes from the hips; use your core for a more powerful punch.
Hook Perfect this pivoting motion by imagining crushing a cigarette with the ball of your foot.
Upper Cut Drive the punch from your legs...Don't punch up past your nose.
Front Kick Picture kicking a door open with your foot.
Roundhouse Kick Slap your imaginary target with your shoelaces.
Side Kick Kick "through" your target with your heel.

So give your system a "one-two punch." The first punch is mixing up your workouts...and the second is making sure you get enough protein throughout the day! Protein shakes are a "must" in my routine and they make a surprisingly tasty treat. Click here to try my favorite "Choco-Monkey" recipe, it's the perfect way to boost your energy levels, especially after a kickboxing workout!
